Visit from The Mayor of Runnymede

The Mayor of Runnymede visited the school this week.   He presented the Attendance Cup to Holly Class, gave out badges to our newly elected House Captains, and presented prizes to the Reading Challenge winners.   After this we held a Q and A session, and the Mayor was really impressed with the behaviour of all the children, their good manners, and the quality of their questioning. They were, as usual, an absolute credit to the school and to you their parents.

The Mayor spoke about how he has always lived by ambition and determination.   These are two of our Learning Behaviours, so it was really good for the children to be presented with practical examples of how these have impacted positively in someone’s life. The Mayor gave a very inspiring speech, urging the children to be ambitious and determined, never giving up on their dreams, regardless of the barriers they might face.
