Competitions & Sporting Spirit
Participating in healthy competition plays a vital role in building resilience, sportsmanship, and self-belief. While our competitive provision is in its growth phase, we are committed to giving our pupils positive, high-quality opportunities to test their skills, represent their school, and celebrate personal and team achievements.
Current Sport & Community Partnerships
We currently field active football and netball teams that compete regularly in fixture lists against local primary schools and within our wider Trust. To ensure our children receive expert coaching and structured match play, we work in close partnership with our PE providers, NS Sport. They train our football squad, coordinate competitive fixtures, and help instil core values of teamwork, discipline, and fair play in our young athletes.
Expanding Horizons & Student Leadership
As we develop our provision, our next steps focus on broadening the range of sports in which our pupils can compete. A key part of this vision is empowering our Year 6 sports leads, who are organising inter-house competitions this year so that every child has the choice and opportunity to represent their house team. Beyond the sports field, we are also actively collaborating with local schools and Trust partners to create non-sporting competitive opportunities, allowing children to challenge themselves and shine across creative, academic, and problem-solving arenas.
Annual Sports Day Celebration
The highlight of our sporting year is our annual Sports Day, an event designed to balance team house pride with individual success. Children compete in their house colours across a dynamic range of events, combining classic track races with an inclusive carousel of physical challenges, such as the javelin throw and the tug of war. It is a wonderful day of community spirit where pupils learn to support one another, handle victory and defeat with equal grace, and discover the joy of active participation.
