Year 4 - Chestnut Class
In Chestnut Class, we always try our best and challenge ourselves to get better each day. We use Talk for Learning strategies to help us with our learning and hear different ideas from others. We always look forward to our PE lessons each week. This year, we’ve learnt how to play tag rugby. History is also a subject that we love. We’ve learnt loads of exciting things in our Ancient Egypt unit including pharaohs, pyramids, mummies and the Egyptian gods and goddesses. Later, we will also be learning about ‘the Romans’ and ‘Crime and Punishment.’
There are lots of exciting school trips to look forward to. This year, we have visited a Buddhist temple to see how Buddhists practise their religion. It was an interesting experience and helped our RE unit come to life. We will also be visiting Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens. This is the largest Roman-built residence in Britain. We enjoy our science lessons, and this year we have learnt about the digestive system and how to classify living things. When we write, we use different books and videos to support our writing and we use a range of skills. We are proud of our work and always strive to be the best that we can be.
